Each spring in the western USA, the wild horses battle each other for dominance and to impress (and win) the ladies. While they try to avoid all-out fighting by displaying their strength in battles of intimidation, sometimes the battle becomes fierce. In this painting, I tried to bring out the bold, rich colors of these horses along with their fire, energy, and personalities.
Horses are, to me, the epitome of movement, freedom, and grace. America's wild horses are at the tops of the equine game in my opinion. I enjoy spending hours watching any horses, but particularly those few who are left to roam the range as the last vestiges of the Wild West.
