As I was driving around rural eastern Oregon at dawn a few years ago, I saw this paint horse filly grazing in a field near the road. Since this was an open range area, I slowed down as I approached her to prevent her from being startled. As I slowed, I noticed the beautiful cool, pink-toned light that flooded the landscape. The distant mountains were an incredible shade of aqua, and the filly's coat stood out in blues and purples against
