The Dance Shawl, oil, 14 x 18 inches

Exhibiting: Nancy Rynes Studio

$650 framed

This piece hearkens back to what we now call the "Old West"...the time period in the late 1800s in America that saw cattle drives, the influx of European immigrants, the explosion of commercial interests such as mining and timber, the growth of towns like Deadwood and Tombstone, and the decimation of Native cultures. While some people came to the West, found their niche, and stayed in one location, others drifted from town to town, going where the work took them. I imagine this man as having experienced a lot of life in his time traveling the western territories.
